Breast lifting - Mastopexy
This surgery is used for lifting and reshaping the breasts, with or without implants.
- Duration of the surgery:
Two to three hours.
- Anesthesia:
Local with analgo-sedation or general Anesthesia
- Surgical procedure:
Depending on how much the breasts are hanging it could be round-block technique – removing the skin around the nipple circularly, or removing the skin around the nipple vertically or vertically and horizontally (inverted T). If used, the implant could be positioned under the muscle, dual plane or sub-fascia.
- Postoperative procedure:
Hospital stay is advised. Without implants, the recovery is five to seven days, while wit implants it lasts seven to 15 days. Wearing a garment for four to six weeks is advised.
- Risks:
Hematoma, seromas, infection, moving or dislocation of implants, capsular contracture, rupture of implants, changed sensibility, difficulty or not healing the wound, prolapse of implants, asymmetry.
